When growing samples that produce a large amount of evaporated material, the quartz tube becomes cloudy, making long-duration growth impossible.
By using a gas guide, the gas flow can be directed inside the gas guide, which forces the evaporated material to adhere there and helps reduce clouding of the quartz tube.
